GENERAL CONSIDERATION

Berkeley Playhouse holds open calls for each of our Mainstage productions every season, typically casting 4-6 months in advance of the show's first rehearsal. For the 24-25 season, we will cast The Prom in March of 2024, Seussical in May of 2024, Jesus Christ Superstar in September of 2024, and The Sound of Music in October of 2024. Audition announcements are posted here on our website, as well as on Theatre Bay Area's platform, and various Bay Area theater social media groups. Please check these resources regularly for opportunities to submit.

Berkeley Playhouse collaborates primarily with non-union performers, and offers a limited number of AEA Guest Artist Tier 2 contracts per season. In an effort to foster and support our local theater community, Berkeley Playhouse is currently only taking submissions from performers that call the Bay Area home.
