Dive into the world of theatre arts with Berkeley Playhouse’s award-winning program! Most classes are grades PreK-6, with select skill-building classes for middle and high schoolers.
About Our Classes:
What is a Core Class? (Grades 3-6)Core is our more advanced playmaking class, which rehearses twice a week and culminates in a final performance on our main stage. We recommend that students take at least two non-core classes prior to enrolling. Students must submit an application when enrolling for the first time. Please click here for the application.
Broadway Singing and Beginning/Intermediate Broadway Dance:
Each of these classes hones performance skills in a particular area. Students of all levels will study basic to intermediate techniques culminating in an informal showing on the final day of class.
Intermediate/Advanced Dance Performance:
Students who have not taken this class previously should please email firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm their previous dance experience and receive the enrollment code.
Triple Threat + Audition Skills Intensive:
In this class, 6th-9th grade students will hone their acting, voice, and dance technique and learn the basic skills of auditioning for musical theater.
Based on the Popular Titles:
Cinderella (Grades PreK-3): A fairy godmother, a wicked stepfamily, and a royal ball! The beloved fairy tale collides with the classic music of Rogers and Hammerstein in this enchanting story.
Pippin (Grades 3-6): Join us on the dazzling, twisted journey of the young prince, Pippin, in this magical musical from the composer of Wicked.
