About The Prom

The Prom: A fabulous whirlwind of Broadway magic and small-town drama—and you're invited!

Picture this: Four eccentric Broadway stars swoop into a small Indiana town to boost their careers by championing a high school student's right to bring her girlfriend to prom.

What unfolds is a hilarious and heartwarming rollercoaster of glitter, high kicks, and unexpected alliances.

With its sharp wit, infectious charm, and a message of love and acceptance, this vibrant show celebrates individuality and the power of standing up for what you believe in.

The Prom premiered on Broadway in 2018, swiftly winning hearts and earning seven Tony Award nominations.  It was followed by a movie (featuring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Ariana DeBose, and Andrew Rannells), a national tour, and productions in top regional theaters across the US.

And now, for good reason, The Prom is taking the Bay Area by storm—you can see this feel-good spectacle right here on the Julia Morgan stage!
