YouthStage, Classes & Camps


To ensure funds are distributed equitably between applicants, we will have an open application period each session. After the application period ends, our Financial Aid Committee will review all submitted applications and award funds based on family need. Financial Aid offers will be sent out within one week of the application deadline.

Financial Aid applications for 2024 Christmas and New Year's Camps   are due by November 29, 2024


Requirements for Application

The Financial Aid application is now built into registration on our new software Jumbula! Parents can now enroll their student in the desired program(s) first, then pay the balance after receiving a financial aid offer.
Here's how it works:

  1. Visit the registration page here .
  2. Choose the program you want to enroll in. Click the ENROLL button, which will take you to the program description. Click ENROLL again. 
  3. Create a new account with Jumbula (or log in to your existing account). 
  4. Follow the steps to complete your registration. 
    • Check the box next to the "tuition option."
    • Choose the student you're enrolling or click "A new participant."
    • On the registration form, make sure you fill out all the required information, AND fill out completely the Financial Aid Application section at the bottom of the form. 
      • Please note: you will need to upload the following items for your registration form and the Financial Aid Application to be considered complete:
        • Proof of income: Your most recent W-2(s) from the entire household. If you do not have W-2(s), you can upload last 3 months of paystubs.
      • Make sure that your Financial Aid application is filled out completely before hitting "Continue."
    • Sign the required waivers/terms and conditions and hit CONTINUE.
  5. On the page that says "How would you like to pay?," make sure you hit Pay in full. Do not select the payment plan or the system will require you to submit payment information and will take a 1/3 deposit and automatically charge your card on the payment plan dates. No payment is due at the time of registration for Financial Aid applicants.  When you receive your financial aid offer, you will have the option of paying the balance in installments.
  6. When you reach the checkout page, make sure the program information is correct. At this point, you can add additional programs for the same student or another student and repeat the process above. As long as the programs are on the same order, you are only required to fill out the Financial Aid Application once.
  7. When you're ready to confirm your "purchase," scroll down to the bottom of the checkout page and select "Register with Application for Financial Aid" and click "Place Order."

Applicants will receive their financial aid offers after the application period has closed. Please make sure to read your offer email carefully.You will have one week from the date of the offer to reply and pay your balance (or first installment). If we do not hear from you, you risk losing your spot in a program.


Financial Aid Policies

We believe all children deserve the opportunity to engage in and thrive through the arts. Berkeley Playhouse is committed to ensuring access to our education programs for low-income students, especially from underserved and/or underrepresented communities of color, by providing financial assistance of theater education tuitions.

Our financial aid funds serve families for whom the cost of tuition would otherwise cause a barrier to their participation. Eligible students will receive between 30-70% (on a sliding scale) of tuition costs based on availability of funds.

*Please note: For families requesting financial aid, if your household earns over $80,000 annually, an explanation of extenuating circumstances is required in order to be considered. We will review and make exceptions on an individual basis. All families have the option to pay in installments by selecting a Payment Plan at checkout.
