Dear Berkeley Playhouse community,Our theater is closed but we are still working hard to keep our organization alive and our community connected. All our camps and youth rehearsals have moved online and remote. Our staff is staying connected through Zoom meetings and managing all the new remote technology.
Take a look below at our current summer programs and fun content we've shared during these times:

Our current situation during the Covid-19 pandemic:We are saddened to have had to announce the cancellations of In the Heights and Newsies, but our community's safety and heathy must take priority. We are heartbroken to be unable to provide a physical place of community gathering and performing arts for the Bay Area at this time.
As a non-profit organization, this is a HUGE hit to our finances, and are humbly calling on wonderful supporters like yourselves to lend a hand and help us recover from this.

WHAT WE CAN PROVIDE:
In the meantime, we will continue to share lots of great new content in our weekly email newsletters and on social media with the hope that it will help brighten these gloomy days. We will continue to send updates on our programming when necessary to keep you informed of our current status. As one of many incredible Bay Area theaters, we are working together to raise each other up and support one another during these times. Our artists are coming together and finding ways to provide music, singing, dancing, and more from their homes and share that love with all of you until they can be on stage again.
Take a look at some of our recent videos to help brighten these days:
Our Annies from the 2011 and 2017 productions sing "Tomorrow" from their homes.
The cast of In the Heights perform the finale number from the hit musical.
Our Instagram Live Series was a big hit and featured incredible Mainstage and Conservatory alumni. Click above to view the playlist of videos.
On behalf of artists everywhere and all of us at Berkeley Playhouse, continue to stay safe and healthy—and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
